Massage Therapist
JoAnn Hailwood – Licensed Massage Therapist A.K. Chiropractic at Erie’s Reviving Bodywork Studio
I have been practicing Massage Therapy since graduating from Great Lakes Institute of Technology and Medical Careers in October of 2002. The year long course provided a solid foundation on which I’ve built my practice. The course studies included 100 hours of Anatomy and Physiology, Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Swedish Massage and Aromatherapy.
I branched into Energy Work in late spring of 2005 when I attended a weekend workshop with Alex Hermasillo of Sedona, Arizona; development of a technique he refers to as Master Energy Medicine (MEM). In that intensive weekend we received training in Reiki level 1, 2, and 3 and level one of MEM. I learned of the Chakra system: seven subtle anatomy centers that run from the tailbone to the crown of the head, and hold our life experiences. I learned 0f the impact of our emotional bodies along with our ancestral connections in our present life. I studied with Alex via his weekend workshops to complete level 4 MEM by the end of 2005.
I have been privileged to work with many gifted practitioners over the years who have eagerly shared their knowledge and experience with me. I am deeply grateful to them all.
I have continued to study Alternative Modalities in both bodywork and energy healing. My Continuing Education courses for licensing have been focused on attaining a deeper level of understanding of how the mind, body, and the Spirit work together to make life not only manageable, but enjoyable.
I offer 60 to 90 minute session tailored to your personal needs. These sessions may include, in bodywork, Swedish massage, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Cranial Sacral and Myofascial release.
60 minute Energy Work sessions draw from Reiki, Polarity Balancing, Quantum Touch, and Emotional Release techniques.
90 minute session can be tailored to include both Massage and Energy work.
